Broken Wheat Halwa - How to make Dalia Halwa

  Try this quick and easy recipe to make delicious Broken Wheat Halwa.

 This halwa is a easy Indian dessert that has a healthy combination of broken / cracked wheat and jaggery. An ideal recipe for all age groups.

Preparation & Cooking Time: 40 Minutes
Yield: 3-4 servings

Broken/Craked Wheat - 1 Cup
Ghee - 2 tbsp
Cardamom Powder - 1tsp
Dry Nuts - 2 tbsp chopped (cashew, raisins, almond)
Jaggery - 3/4 Cup (Increase as required)
Sugar – 3 tbsp
Water - 4 cups

1.      Heat the Ghee in a Pressure cooker and fry raisins until golden brown. Keep aside.
2.      Add the broken wheat in the above ghee and roast it until brown.
3.      Add water, jaggery and sugar in it.
4.      Now pressures cook it for 4-5 whistles. Give it a rest for 5 mins.
5.      Mix cardamom powder and serve it with dry nuts on top of it.

If you don’t want to cook it in pressure cooker, you can cook it on the pan but it will take about half an hour time as wheat takes its own time to be cooked well.
