Punjabi Rajma Masala

Punjabi Rajma Masala is a very popular dish of North India. Rajma actually means Red Beans and it is very good in fiber, folate and Iron. It becomes more delicious when served hot with plain rice or plain roti.. 

YIELD – 3 Servings


Red Beans - 2 cups ( boiled)
Onion - 1 large finely chopped
Tomato - 1 large finely chopped
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tsp 
Curry Masala - 1 tsp
Chili Powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds - 1tsp
Salt as per taste
Lemon Juice as per taste
Oil - 2 tsp


  1. Heat the oil in a frying pan, add cumin, when fluttering add onion and ginger garlic paste. Saute until translucent.
  2. Add tomato and all other masalas. Cook well until it leaves out oil.
  3. Now add well cooked Red Beans and cook it well for 8-10 mins. Add water if required.
  4. Just before serving add lemon juice. Garnish with Coriander.
  5. Serve hot with your choice of Rice or Roti.
