Tomato Dosa

This dosa is made quick and the batter doesn't need any fermentation. Tomato is ground into paste along with rice and other spices. It is then poured in griddle and made into delicious and crispy dosa. Try this version of dosa today for dinner....

Tomato Dosa

YIELD –12-15 Dosa


Raw Rice-2 cups
Tomato-3 Large
Red Chili-4 no
Grated Coconut-1 tbsp
Curry Leaves-1 Spring
Salt-2 tsp
Coriander-1 tbsp chopped
Turmeric Powder-1/4 Pinch


  1. Wash and soak rice for 2 hours.
  2. Grind tomato, red chili, coconut, turmeric and salt.
  3. Add in the soaked rice without water and grind.
  4. Add water if required and grind into fine batter, mix chopped coriander, curry leaves.
  5. Now dilute the batter by adding water (like rava dosa batter).
  6. Heat a Griddle/flat pan pour a laddle of batter from edges to center till proper shape is done.
  7. Drizzle little oil over the entire surface of dosa and cook covered on slow medium flame.
  8. Serve this hot crispy tomato dosa with curd and  Andhra Papulpodi
