Cucumber Lentil / Dosakaya Pappu

Thoor Dhal- 1/2 cup(soak in water for 15 minutes)
Onion-1 medium Roughly chopped
Tomato- 1 large Roughly chopped
Garlic- 2 flakes
Ginger- 1 tbsp chopped
Green Chilli-2 no.
Red Chilli Powder- 1/2 tsp
Turmeric Powder-1/4tsp
Asefatodia- 1tsp
Gingelly oil- 1tsp
Water-1 Cup
Sugar-1/2 tsp
Salt To Taste
Lemon Juice1 tbsp(optional)
Oil-1 tbsp
For variation can also try cucumber with moong dhal.

YIELD –3 Servings
Ingredients:
Cucumber-1 largeThoor Dhal- 1/2 cup(soak in water for 15 minutes)
Onion-1 medium Roughly chopped
Tomato- 1 large Roughly chopped

Ginger- 1 tbsp chopped

Red Chilli Powder- 1/2 tsp

Asefatodia- 1tsp
Gingelly oil- 1tsp
Water-1 Cup
Sugar-1/2 tsp
Salt To Taste
Lemon Juice1 tbsp(optional)
Oil-1 tbsp
Method:
- Wash and peel the outer skin of cucumber, roughly chop.
- Combine Dhal, cucumber, onion, tomato, garlic, ginger, green chilli, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, water, gingelly oil and asefatodia .
- Pressure cook for 3 sounds and tranfer to the cooking bowl.
- Add salt and sugar, cook for 5 minutes.
- Season it and squeeze a tbsp of lemon juice if you wish.
- Serve hot cucumber pappu/dhal with steamed rice.
