Hara Bhara Healthy Pulao

Hara Bhara Healthy Pulao
 YIELD –3 servings


Brown Rice- 1 cup
Spinach - 1 cup (finely chopped)
Mint leaves - 1/4 cup finely chopped
Green Peas - 1/2 cup
Onion - 1 small chopped lengthwise
Green chillies - 1-2 finely chopped
Cashew - 8-10 nos. roughly chopped
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Salt as per taste
Pepper powder as per taste
Oil - 1 tsp


  1. Wash and soak brown rice in hot water for half hour. 
  2. Heat the oil in a pressure cooker and add cumin seeds with onion. Saute.
  3. Add Spinach, mint leaves and green peas into it.
  4. Add cashew, chili, salt and pepper as well. cook for few minutes.
  5. Remove water from rice and add rice into cooker. cook for 3-4 minutes.
  6. Add 4 cups of water and cover the lid of cooker. Cook it until 7-8 whistles. 
  7. Let it cool down until steam come out of cooker.
  8. Serve hot with Raita, Curries and Dal.


You can replace spinach with any kind of green leafy vegetable available in your kitchen.

Before you use brown rice keep in mind that Brown rice takes more time to cook compare to basmati rice and it also need more water to cook.
