Mor Kuzhambu / Buttermilk Curry
Happy Tamil New Year to all Tamil viewers. Iniya Tamil Puthaandu Nalvazhthugal. Mor Kuzhambu is an authentic south Indian curry made out of buttermilk. This can be made easily and the taste is also superb. My husband just loves this dish and I make it often at home with dhal vadais. Make this dish following the instructions given.
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp.
Grated Coconut - 1 tbsp.
Green chilli - 1
Thoor dhal - 1/4 tsp.
Rice - 1/4 tsp.
Salt - as per taste
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp.
Hing - 2 pinch
Coriander leaves chopped - 1 tbsp.
Oil - 1 tsp.
Mustard, Urid dhal, curry leaves - little

YIELD –3 SERVINGs
Ingredients:
Buttermilk - 1 cupCumin seeds - 1 tsp.
Grated Coconut - 1 tbsp.
Green chilli - 1
Thoor dhal - 1/4 tsp.
Rice - 1/4 tsp.
Salt - as per taste
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp.
Hing - 2 pinch
Coriander leaves chopped - 1 tbsp.
Oil - 1 tsp.
Mustard, Urid dhal, curry leaves - little
Method:
- Soak dhal and rice with 2 tbsp. water for about an hour.
- Grind cumin seeds, coconut, thoor dhal, rice, turmeric powder to a paste.
- Add this paste to buttermilk. Add hing and salt to buttermilk.
- Heat oil in a pan. Season it with mustard, urid dhal and curry leaves.
- Add the buttermilk mixture. Cook until the curry starts to boil.
- Add Dhal Vadais or cooked ladies finger or white pumpkin. (cook ladies finger or white pumpkin with little salt)
- Serve hot with steamed rice and potato fry.
