Fallafel With Hummus
Fallafel with Hummus is a very popular street food in Middle East Countries and it is a national food of Israel. Hummus is a Sauce/Dip accompanied with fallafel. Try this easy recipe and explore famous Mediterranean food.
Chickpeas - 1/4 cup
Garlic - 2 cloves
Salt as per taste
Pepper Powder - as per taste
Lemon Juice- 1 tbsp
Tahini sauce - 1 tsp (Sesame paste)
Parsley - 1 spring
Olive oil - few drops
For Fallafel:
Chickpeas - 1 cup
Onion - 1 large
Garlic - 3 cloves
Parsley - 1/4 cup chopped
Coriander - 1/2 cup chopped
All purpose flour - 1/2 cup
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Pepper powder as per taste
Salt as per taste
Oil for frying
Or instead of making ball make a tikki from of fallfel and add into a burger and your McFallafel burger is ready.

YIELD –1 bowl hummus and 20 balls of fallafel
Ingredients:
For Hummus:Chickpeas - 1/4 cup
Garlic - 2 cloves
Salt as per taste
Pepper Powder - as per taste
Lemon Juice- 1 tbsp
Tahini sauce - 1 tsp (Sesame paste)
Parsley - 1 spring
Olive oil - few drops
For Fallafel:
Chickpeas - 1 cup
Onion - 1 large
Garlic - 3 cloves
Parsley - 1/4 cup chopped
Coriander - 1/2 cup chopped
All purpose flour - 1/2 cup
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Pepper powder as per taste
Salt as per taste
Oil for frying
Method:
For Hummus:Hummus |
- Soak the chickpeas overnight. Pressure cook them next day until cooked well.
- Add all the ingredients along with chickpeas in a grinder and make a smooth paste. Add water if required. It should get a thick smooth thick water.
- Take it out in a serving bowl and Garnish with Parsley leaves. you may also sprinkle chili flakes to add hot flavor.
- Soak the chickpeas overnight. Pressure cook them next day until cooked well. Drain water and allow it to cool for 30 minutes.
- Add chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley and coriander in a food processor and make a thick paste.
- Remove this mixture in a large mixing bowl and add salt, pepper, cumin seeds and all purpose flour and mix well.
- Divide this mixture into a small size balls about ping pong size ball and keep aside.
- In a deep frying pan heat the oil and fry the fallafel balls until golden brown.
- Serve hot with Hummus and tahini sauce.
