Phirni, a Kashmiri sweet dish is so delicious and also irresistable that you would always like to have a cup of it. Making this dish is also as quick as possible. Make this yummy sweet dish with a microwave and enjoy it with your family.




Basmathi rice - 50 grams
Water - 1/2 cup
Milk - 1/2 litre
Sugar - 100 grams
Sliced almonds - 1 tbsp.
Cashews - 1 tbsp.
Raisins - 1 tbsp.


  1. Soak basmathi rice for 1/2 an hour in water.
  2. Drain and discard the water.
  3. In a blender blend it to a smooth paste with little water.
  4. In a microwave bowl add milk and microwave at high for about 7 minutes.
  5. Take 5 tbsp of the boiled milk and add the ground rice paste little by little stirring constantly ensuring no lumps are formed.
  6. Add this milk rice mixture to the big milk bowl little by little ensuring no lumps are formed.
  7. Add sugar to this and  microwave in medium power for about 10 minutes or until this thickens stirring in between.
  8. Add the dry fruits and microwave in low power for about 8 minutes.
  9. Once it cools down put it in the refrigerator and serve chilled.


  • If you add the rice paste to the boiled milk directly lumps will form and it will be difficult to break them.
