Fried Ice Cream
Fried ice Cream Do you find it sounds
something contradiction in terms - how the melting ice cream is been
fried and kept as a whole?? The answer is two secret steps to be
followed. First step ice cream is well frozen. Second step is it is not
fried directly but fried with crumb coated. As summer is ahead we
will definitely find ways to cool our self and why say no if something
cooling, mouth watering being fried and served. Ice Cream melting
inside the golden crest shell and tempting to gulp it. Try this unique
dessert and surprise your family and friends.

Ingredients:
Vanilla Ice Cream - 1quart
Cornflakes-1 cup crushed
Oats - 1 cup crushed
Cinnamon Powder-1 tsp
Corn Flour-4 tbsp
Method:
- Scoop the ice cream into 8 round balls and place it on the tray and freeze for about an hour.
- In a bowl combine the crushed corn flakes, oats and cinnamon powder.
- Rolls the frozen ice cream balls in the corn flakes and oats mix until completely coat, freeze again for an hour.
- In another bowl dilute corn flour with water to thick batter.
- Dip the coated balls in the batter and roll it again in the remaining corn flakes, oats crumbs(for thicker coating, repeat dipping in corn flour and rolling in crumbs).
- Freeze again the rolled ice cream balls for about 2-3 hours(it is very important to freeze the ice cream until hard, if possible leave the scoops in freezer overnight).
- Heat sufficient oil in the deep fry pan, place the scoops and fry for just 10-15 seconds.
- Serve hot immediately.
NOTE:
For variation you can use egg/maida mix instead of corn flour batter.
For rolling use grated coconut(dried) /crushed biscuits of your choice for more flavor.
Fried Ice Cream is becoming popular in many countries.
In America and Mexico the coating is a crumb base, they call it as fried ice cream . In Asian countries(like Japanese and Chinese) the coating is a batter base, they call it as tempura ice cream.
