Kadhi Pakoda
Deep fried veg dumpling in yogurt gravy has its traditional name Kadhi Pakoda in North India. Kadhi pakoda occupies a special and important place in all north indian kitchen. It is cooked in various ways by making different kind of pakoda. Here i tried red cabbage and carrot in dumpling and it came out really delicious. Here comes the recipe of kadhi pakoda.
Red Cabbage - 1 cup grated (can substitute it with white cabbage if you dont find red cabbage)
Carrot - 1 big grated
Onion - 1 big grated
Corn flour - 1/4 cup
Salt as per taste
Pepper powder as per taste
Soda bi-carb - a pinch
Oil for frying
For Kadhi
Sour Curd - 1 cup
Besan - 2 tbsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Chili Powder - 1 tsp
Salt as per taste
Garam Masala - 1/4 tsp
Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp finely chopped (For garnishing)
For seasoning
Oil - 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tcp
Fenugreek seeds - 1/4 tsp
hing a pinch
Curry leaves - 1 spring
Dry red chili - 1-2 nos
Garlic - 1 tsp finely chopped

YIELD – 4 servings
Ingredients:

Oil - 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tcp
Fenugreek seeds - 1/4 tsp

Method:
- In a mixing bowl combine all the ingredients of Pakoda.
- Make small balls of the mixture.
- Heat the oil in a frying pan and deep fry pakodas until golden brown.
- Beat the curd in a big bowl and make a butter milk by adding 2 cups of water.
- Add besan, salt, turmeric powder, chili powder and garam masala in butter milk.
- Heat the 1 tbsp of oil in a big sauce pan and add all the ingredients of seasoning.
- Now add above prepared kadhi (butter milk mixture) in the seasoning.
- Cook untill 4-5 boils or you get proper desired consistency of kadhi.
- Just before serving add pakodas in hot boiling kadhi. Cook for 4-5 minutes.
- Garnish with coriander and serve with rice or roti.
