Schezwan Sauce

Schezwan sauce is treat for Spicy lovers. It can be used with variety of delicious Indo Chinese recipes i.e fried rice, noddles, vegetables, starters or anything you can imagine. Here is a recipe to make yummy and delicious Schezwan Sauce.

Schezwan Sauce
 YIELD – 2 cups


Dry Red Chilies - 10 nos.
Garlic - 1/4 cup chopped
Oil - 2 tbsp
Ginger - 1 tsp grated
Green Chilies - 1 tbsp finely chopped
Onion - 1 small size finely chopped
Vinegar - 1 tbsp
Light soya sauce - 1 tsp
Sugar - 1 tbsp
Chili Powder - 1 tsp
Corn flour- 1 tsp
Salt as per taste


Schezwan Sauc
  1. Boil the red chilies in a water for about 5 minutes. Drain water and grind it in a smooth paste (add little water if required to make a paste)
  2. Heat the oil in a pan and add onion, garlic, ginger and green chilies. saute until golden brown.
  3. Add above prepared red chili paste.
  4. In a small bowl add corn flour into 1/4 cup of water or vegetable stock. Mix well and add it in a pan.
  5. Add salt, vinegar, chili powder, sugar and soya sauce. Add water if required.
  6. Simmer for 5-10 minutes until you get proper consistency.
  7. Schezwan Sauce is ready. You can store it for a month in refrigerator and use as and when required.
