Anjeer Mava Burfi / Fig N Khoya Burfi ~ Festival Treat

Anjeer Mava Burfi / Fig N Khoya Burfi

 YIELD –12-15 pieces


For Brown Layer
Anjeer / Fig - 1 cup chopped
Mava/Khoya - 1 cup grated
Ghee  - 2 tbsp
Sugar - 2 tbsp (Adjust as per your taste)
Water  - 1/2 cup
Cardamom powder a pinch

For White Layer
Mava/Khoya - 1 cup grated
Sugar - 1/2 cup (Adjust as per your taste)
Cardamom Powder a pinch
Dry fruits for garnishing


  1. Heat 1/2 cup of water in a pan; add anjeer and sugar into it.
  2. Cook for 5-6 minutes and and mash anjeer with back of the spoon. 
  3. Continue cooking and add khoya and ghee into it.
  4. Cook untill mixture is brown and add cardamom powder.
  5. When ghee start leaving the pan mixture make a ball around the spoon consider it is cooked.
  6. once cooked well keep aside to cool down.
  7. For white layer mix khoya and sugar well.
  8. Add this mixture in a pan and cook it over low flame.
  9. Add cardamom powder and cook unitl mixture makes a ball around the spoon.
  10. Pour and spread the mixture evenly in flat plate to make white layer.
  11. Pour and spread anjeer mixture evenly onto white plate.
  12. Sprinkle dry fruits over it and cut it into square or desired shape.
