Kache kele Ka Cutlet ~ Fasting Recipe

kache kele ka cutlet is another fasting recipe among North Indian people. Kache Kela is popularly known as plantain/raw banana. This is very simple yet delicious filling recipe. This is excellent food for kids too as it is combined source of .....plantain and potato. You can use this as patties inside burger, bread, pav and will goes well with green chutney.
Kache kele Ka Cutlet

YIELD – 6 cutlets


Raw Banana-2 no.
Potato - 1large or 2medium
Green chilli-2 finely chopped
Ginger paste-1tsp
Rajgara Flour/Kootu Ka Atta-2tbsp(For Fasting People) or
Corn Flour-2tbsp(For Regular)
Coriander leaves-2tbsp finely chopped
Salt To Taste
Oil as Needed

Kache kele Ka Cutlet


  1. Boil, peel skin and mash potatoes.
  2. Trim the edges of the banana. Boil the banana in pressure pan with sufficient  for one sound. Peel and mash it.
  3. In a mixing bowl combine banana, potato with all other ingredients except oil to a soft dough(do not add water at any point).
  4. Divide equal portion balls and give a good circular shape between palms like cutlet(grease oil with both palms before making cutlets).
  5. Heat oil in a flat griddle or pan, tilt the pan to spread oil evenly and place the patties.
  6. Drizzle some more oil all over the surface and fry both sides until it turns crisp golden brown.
  7. Dish out and serve with Coriander Chutney.


Do not try to cook both potato and raw banana together  whereas banana takes very less time to cook compare to potatoes.
Alternatively You can microwave banana on high powder for 3-4 minutes to cook.
