Homemade Nacho Cheese Sauce | Cheddar Cheese Dip

Cheese sauce is all time favorite dip with kids. You can serve this creamy sauce with almost  anything you like starting from nachos, chips, fries, steamed or baked veggies or any finger food. It can also be used in Mexican or Italian cooking like pasta or nachos/tacos. Preparation & Cooking Time : 15 mins

YIELD :2 cups


Butter - 2 tbsp
All Purpose Flour - 2 tbsp
Milk - 1 cup
Sharp Cheddar Cheese - 1/2 cup (grated)
Salt - a generous pinch
Pepper powder - a pinch (Optional)


  1. Heat the saucepan over medium heat, melt in butter and stir in all purpose flour in it.
  2. Add milk in it and stir in continuously until mixture gets thicken.
  3. Add in salt, pepper and grated cheese. stir in constantly to avoid lumps.
  4. Cook and stir until cheese has melted and all ingredients are blended well. 
  5. cheese sauce/dip is ready to serve. Serve hot with nachos, fries, chips or any finger food you wish.


  • Keep the flame always on medium to law hit to avoid burn.
  • Never keep it unattended and keep stirring until done to avoid lumps
