Fresh Tomato Salsa ~ Basic Mexican Salsa Recipe
Mexican Tomato Salsa is a popular condiment. It can be served as salad or sauce along with tortilla chips as a snack, or with taco/burritos as a part of meal. Its easy, quick and simple to make and its fresh tangy flavor is a real crowd pleaser. Many like to discard its water but I just love the tangy tomato water which enhance the flavor and make it more delicious. Here goes the EzRecipe to make Authentic Fresh Tomato Salsa.
Preparation & Cooking Time : Under 10 minutes
YIELD :2 cups
Ingredients:
Fresh Red Tomato - 2 nos. largeRed Onion - 1 no.
Green Capsicum - 1/2 small
Celery - 1 stick
Fresh Coriander - 1/2 cup bowl
Salt as per taste
Pepper sauce - 1/2 tsp (I used Tabasco pepper sauce)
Lemon juice - 2 tbsp
Mexican Spice mix - 1/2 tsp
Method:
- Wash and cut tomato into 4 wedges, peel and wash onion, cut in 4 wedges. Wash, seeded capsicum and roughly cut into 2-3 pieces. discard stems of coriander and wash. wash and roughly chop celery.
- Insert chopping blade in food processor and drop all above veggies into it.
- Pulse to chop until well combined and the vegetables represent a small dice.
- Transfer into bowl and season it with salt, pepper sauce, lemon juice and mexican spice mix.
- Refrigerate until ready to serve. Can be prepared few hours before serving to get tangy, well blended taste.
Note:
- Pepper powder can be replaced with Tabasco sauce.
- You can finely chop all veggies separately if food processor is not available.
