Veg Hakka Noodles Recipe | Ezcookbook

Hakka Noodles, a very basic and popular recipe belongs to Indian Chinese Cuisine. Mixed vegetables and cooked noodles are quickly stir fried and tossed with sauces in Indo-Chinese style. It is really easy and quick to prepare. If served with Gravy Manchurian or spiced schezwan vegetables makes it a perfect complete meal. Follow the Ez recipe below to make Vegetarian Hakka Noodles.

YIELD : 4 persons


Hakka Noodles - 250 grams
Olive Oil - 2 tbsp
Onion - 1 Julienned
Garlic - 1 tbsp. minced
Cabbage - 1/4 cup Shredded
Carrot - 1 Julienned
Capsicum - 1/2 julienned
Salt - as per taste
Pepper Powder as per taste
Light Soya Sauce - 1 tbsp.
Chili Sauce - 1 tbsp. (adjust as per your taste / replace with tomato sauce if making for kids)
Vinegar - 1/2 tsp (Optional)
Spring onions  - 2 tbsp chopped for garnishing (Use only greens to garnish)


  1. Cook Noodles as per packet instructions. Boil it in enough water. Add salt and 1/2 tbsp. oil while boiling.
  2. Once cooked strain them out in strainer. run over cold water and drain out water completely. keep aside.
  3. In a wok heat oil and add garlic followed by onion. sauté for a while. (Tip - while cooking keep always flame on medium to high for best smoky flavoured and crunchy texture of veggeis.)
  4. Add carrot, cabbage and capsicum and toss them. cook for 2 mins. 
  5. Add salt, pepper, chili sauce, soy sauce and vinegar if using. Mix them well with vegetables. Keep tossing them 3-4 minutes until they are properly cooked, little soft and crunchy.
  6. Finally add cooked noodles and toss and mix it well.
  7. Hakka noodles is now ready to serve. Sprinkle and garnish with spring onions.
  8. Serve hot hakka noodles immediately.


  • While cooking keep always flame on medium to high for best flavoured and crunchy texture of veggeis.
  • Use any vegetables which are on hand or on demand of your loved ones.
