Tzatziki Sauce | Tzatziki Dip Recipe

Tzatziki sauce is refreshing tangy and cooling dip made with easy ingredients. It is a versatile condiment which can be served as a salad dressing, sandwich spread, dip for grilled veggies or meat, kababs and tikis and often with pita bread too. I made it to accompany with baked spinach falafel sandwich and this combination was really delicious. Try out this recipe given below.

Preparation & Cooking Time : under 10 mins.

YIELD : 2 cups

Greek yogurt  - 1 cup ( can be replaced with plain yoghurt or sour cream)
Cucumber - 1 cup ( peeled, deseeded and roughly chopped)
Salt as per taste
Pepper powder - as per taste
Fresh dill - 1 tbsp
Lemon juice 1/2 tbsp
Olive oil- 1 tbsp
Garlic- 1/2 tbsp chopped

  1. Place yogurt in a sieve line with muslin cloth and drain out the excess water and get a thick yogurt.
  2. Combine all ingredient and blend it well in a blender.
  3. Transfer it into a serving bowl and garnish with dill or slice of cucumber.
  4. Refrigerate for at least 1 hr to chill and to get best flavours.
  5. Serve as a salad dressing or sandwich spread or side dip with kababs or tikis.

  • It's better to use greated cucumber and squeeze out water before blending. My dip came out lil watery as I skipped this step. later I added fine flaxseed meal to get a thick creamy consistency which worked perfectly and the outcome was awesome.
  • You can replace chives/mint/parsely for flavours instead of dill.
