Paneer Tikka Kathi Rolls | Frankie Recipe

Paneer Roll or Wrap or Frankie; name it whatever you like. Paneer Tikka Kathi Roll is a very popular street food which is most healthy consumed in India. Make it fresh from scratch or reuse leftover paneer tikka kebab and wrap in homemade tortillas or Roti for quick and easy version. Preparation Time : 40 minutes

Cooking Time : 20 minutes

Yield : 6 rolls


Paneer Tikka:
Paneer cubes - 1 cup
Green capsicum - 1/2 cup cubed
Onion - 1 cubed
Hung curd - 1/2 cup
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Garam masala - 1 tsp
Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
Salt as per taste
Kauri methi 1 tsp
Amchur (Dry mango) powder 1 tsp
Butter or oil for brushing

For Roti:
Wheat Flour - 1 cup
Salt as per taste
Oil - 1 tbsp.
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Butter for frying rotis

For Rolls:
Lettuce - 1/2 cup finely chopped
Onion - 1 medium size cut inot long thin stripes
Green Chutney - 6 tsp (I used tomato ketchup for my son)


  1. For Paneer Tikka : In a Large mixing bowl mix all ingredients hung curd, Chilli powder, Coriander powder, Garam masala, Ginger garlic paste, salt, kasuri methi, Amchur (Dry mango) powder and prepare marination paste.
  2. Mix well and add fresh paneer cubes, onions and cubed capsicum. Mix well to coat them well with paste. Keep it in refrigerator for half n hour for marination.
  3. Spread all cubes in a aluminium foil and brush with butter or oil.
  4. Broil in a preheated oven for 15 mins or until they start to get brown spots on edges. Alternatively you can also grill them in skewers or shallow fry them in pan.
  5. For Rotis : In a mixing bowl, combine all ingredients mentioned for roti except butter. Mix well and prepare a smooth dough. Keep it aside and give it rest for 10 minutes.
  6. Divide dough into 6 balls, take one ball, dust it in dry flour and roll out into a thick roti (thickness of 1 $ coin).
  7. Cook it on hot griddle and grease with butter. Cook both sides evenly until brown spots appear.
  8. Repeat the process and prepare all rotis.
  9. Proceed to make Rolls : Place one roti on a working surface and spread one 1 tsp of green chutney. Sprinkle salad leaves/lettuce and onions. Finally in the middle of roti place prepared paneer tikka on it.
  10. Very carefully wrap up the roti and make a tight roll. Use toothpick to close the edges. or wrap them in aluminium foil. 
  11. Paneer tikka kathi roll is ready to serve.
