Eggless Chocolate Banana Marble Cake

Marble cake is a combination of light and dark cake batter baked together and swirled to make pretty marble pattern. Here I tried to make it a little healthy by using banana-vanilla flavour along with chocolate in it. It is super easy to make with readily available ingredients in every kitchen pantry. Its extremely delicious and moist which makes it a ideal dessert to go with your cup of tea or coffee. This is my version of recipe to make Eggless Chocolate Banana Marble Cake.

Preparation & Cooking Time : 15 mins + 30 mins

Yield : 7inch round cake

All Purpose Flour - 1 cup
Sooji - 1/4 up
Mashed Banana - 1 cup
Baking Soda - 1/2 tsp
Baking powder - 1 tsp
Brown Sugar - 1/2 cup
Vanilla Extract - 1 tbsp
Cooking Oil - 1/3 cup
Salt - 1/2 tsp
Milk - 1/2 cup (Use as required)
Cocoa Powder - 2 tbsp.

  1. Preheat Oven at 175C and grease your cake pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl mix together mashed banana, cooking oil and vanilla.
  3. In another bowl combine all purpose flour, sooji, salt, baking soda, baking powder and mix together.
  4. Now slowly add flour mixture into banana mixture one spoon at a time. If the batter is too thick add milk slowly to adjust batter consistency. Batter should be spreadable consistency.
  5. divide the batter in 2 portions. Keep one portion aside.
  6. Add cocoa powder in 2nd portion of batter and mx well.
  7. Place the cake mixture into prepared pan by alternating spoonfuls of plain batter with chocolate batter.
  8. Using a skewer, swirl the batter to get marbled effect.
  9. Bake the cake for 25-30 minutes or until skewers comes out clean.
  10. Once done let it cool down for 15 minutes. Then invert the cake in wire rack and cool down completely.

  • For variation you can add your choice of colors to beautify your cake.
  • You can also change flavours in combination with vanilla cake. i.e red velvet cake, mocha cake.
