Thai Green Curry Paste

This authentic thai green curry paste works well with any main ingredients like vegetables and all kind of meats. In Thailand they use to prepare this paste using Mortar N Pestle by adding ingredients step by step to prepare good tasty paste for Thai Green Curry Recipe.

Thai Green Curry Paste


Fresh hot Green Chilli- 15
Garlic- 6
Galangal/Thai young ginger-1 tbsp minced
Fresh Lemon Grass-1 tbsp sliced
Kaffir Lime Rind -1/2 tsp finely sliced
Coriander Root/Stems-5 springs
Cumin Seeds- 1 tsp
Coriander Seeds- 1 tsp
Coriander leaves- 4 springs(optional)
Salt - 1 tsp


  1. Place all the ingredients in the blender/food processor and grind to coarse paste.
  2. Remember do not add water to the paste as if you wish to store for longer period.
  3. The paste can be stored in the refrigerator for a week or frozen for a year.
  4. Use this paste while preparing curries. 


The amount green chilli and coriander you add the color of the paste will be green.Use only lower part of the lemon grass will be fresh and use green part  of the lime rind avoid using white part this will be so bitter.
