Mushroom Brocolli Carbonara Pasta
Pasta the Italian food is favorite for everyone of all ages. Here I have tried this pasta with homemade carbonara sauce adding broccoli and mushrooms to it. Broccoli being high in vitamin C and dietery fibre is a very good food for people of all ages. It has high anti-cancer properties. But make sure that u do not cook brocolli more than a couple of minutes so that not to loose all the good properties. Mushrooms are low calorie food with vitamin B and essential minerals. Combining broccoli and mushroom with the favorite pasta will make your food more healthier and enjoyable. Try making this Carbonara sauce at home and enjoy ur pasta





Penne Rigate Pasta / Pasta of your choice - 150 grams
Mushroom - 100 grams
Brocolli - 100 grams
Onion - 1
Olive Oil - 2 tsp.
Mixed Italian herbs - 1/2 tsp. (Optional)
Salt - as per taste

Carbonara Sauce preparation:
Butter - 50 grams
Refined flour - 50 g
Milk - 400 ml
Cheddar cheese /cheese of your choice grated - 100 gram


  1. Pasta Preparation: Heat 800 ml of water in a sauce pan.
  2. Add the required salt and a drop of oil to it.
  3. Once it boils add the pasta, cook closed until it is tender and well cooked.
  4. Drain the cooked water.
  5. Place the pasta in a colander and run it under cold water.
  6. Vegetables Preparation: Chop the onions finely.
  7. Chop the mushrooms and broccoli roughly.
  8. Heat a sauce pan. Add oil to it.
  9. Add the finely chopped onions and saute until translusent.
  10. Add the broccoli, mushroom, salt and saute for a couple of minutes.
  11. Keep this aside.
  12. Carbonara Sauce Preparation: Heat another pan and heat the butter.
  13. Add the flour and stir well with a spatula until everything is combined well and the raw smell disappears. Be careful not to burn the bottom.
  14. Add milk and mix well and cook until blends, boils and thicken.
  15. Add the grated cheese to this and mix until the cheese melts.
  16. The Carbonara sauce is ready now.
  17. Now add the mushroom broccoli mixture to this and combine well.
  18. Serve hot with the cooked pasta with Italian herbs drizzled over. 



Generally carbanora pasta is made with bacons but I have made it with these veggies. So you can make variations by adding veggies of your choice.
